Founder / CEO
Josh Backer is the Founder and lead Creative Director at Bravo Charlie Delta. Josh’s primary focus is working with clients to create the content and tools they can use to tell their story, build a culture of philanthropy and catalyze impact in the world. As Creative Director, Josh conceptualizes and executes creative plans, curates a roster of professional talent and oversees the creation of marketing strategy, video, interactive media and traditional media deliverables. He is also known to produce, design, shoot, animate, edit and code projects himself.
Josh has been making media since 1999. The article Hack-umentary, the E-Film published by Wired in 2000 is a testament to Josh’s passion for exploring boundaries and the early adoption of technology. Moreover, the Wired article highlights Josh’s project as one of the first videos ever to have internet distribution. People viewed Backer’s video Disinformation 45,116 times in the first week of its release. Yes, this is before YouTube! As a result, Josh and several partners – inspired by the opportunities for digital storytelling presented by the internet – came together to co-found their first company, Tellart. Josh worked at Tellart developing user experiences until 2003. In 2004 Josh founded the video agency Animal. The studio produced high quality corporate media for a variety of brands including Reebok and Schneider Electric. Animal was acquired in 2012.
Josh studied at the Rhode Island School of Design where he majored in film, animation and video.
